Fall Books for Your Toddler

Having a list of Fall books for your toddler is just another way to enjoy this cozy season. Finding new books is so exciting, especially when you have a fun little one to experience it with. On top of the fact that there are a gagillion benefits to reading with your toddler, having a list of Fall books to read with your will just make that much more fun!

Without further ado, here are some of my favorite Fall books and books that I cannot wait to read with my toddler this Fall.

Fletcher and the Falling Leaves

The Leaf Thief

A squirrel cannot figure out who has been stealing all of his fall leaves. Luckily he has a friend bird who he continues to pester until bird educates him on where all his beautiful leaves have been going. You’ll be chuckling right along with your kiddos on this one!

It is Bear’s first Autumn and he cannot figure out why all the leaves are falling off of the trees! He even tries to put them back on but eventually gets so tired, he must go to sleep. When he wakes up he finds a beautiful Spring. This is a great one to introduce Fall and talk about the changing seasons.

The “You’re My Little” series is a crowd pleaser. This Fall version is absolutely adorable and does not disappoint. This a great one to read while snuggling under a warm, cozy blanket!

The farmer introduces a new friend on the farm, a scarecrow. At first, Otis and his friends are a little weary when their smiles are met with the scarecrow’s frown, but opinions can change. A heartwarming story about compassion on a small farm from the beloved Otis the tractor. This book is a little big on the longer, so you may want to paraphrase depending on how old your toddler is.

Amelia Bedelia’s First Apple Pie

If you ever read any Amelia Bedelia when you were a child, this is for you! I absolutely loved reading this one with my toddler last fall and am anxiously awaiting our library hold this year. If you know Amelia, you know her apple pie baking adventure is sure to be a silly one!

Mouses’s First Fall

A great non-fiction book to teach your toddler all things that go along with Fall. We read this one last year and it was a hit! There are some longer paragraphs in this one, we usually skip that, read the headings and talk about the pictures.
